We are currently looking for a freelance Production Manager - Mexico.

 

General Purpose
The Interim Launch Manager / Operational Manager MX serves as a shop floor manager of the plant and is responsible for the operational issues along the supply chain. He ensures to transfer customer call offs to all relevant suppliers, makes sure that a smooth production is scheduled and deliveries to the customer are in time. The plant will support the ramp up with its plant manufacturing team. Incl. Quality, production, logistics, IT and purchasing.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • Oversees daily operations of the production output of the plant
  • Managing and coordinating all relevant departments to ensure custom deliveries
  • Install sustainable production processes
  • Participate as leader in customer meetings
  • Ensure that all quality regulations will be met
  • Reduce waste all along the process
  • Hold daily meetings with the plant launch team and gives advice and support
  • Improve delivery performance
  • Communicate with all levels in the plant and on head-office level with relevant people involved
  • Be able to present in a clear and accurate way
  • Make sure that all changes are implemented according to group standards
     

Education and Experience:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience of operations management and related technology
  • Minimum of five years experience with production management, lean tools and production systems (VSM, SMED, Kanban, line ballancing etc.), material and production planning, cost analysis and cost control
  • Proven knowledge of automotive standards, work methods and tools
  • Leadership span of ˃300 employees for ˃5 years
  • Management of several operational departments (Production, Maintenance, Logistics, Quality, Engineering) and/or production/business units
  • Experience with multi-technology products and shop floor
  • Project management
  • Proven track record in operations
